How to avoid burnout and overwhelm in biz!

In an ideal world, we are always working towards something that we’re passionate about and that makes us feel fulfilled. But even in the most passionate of endeavors, it’s possible to feel burnt out occasionally, because we live in an imperfect world, and things tend to fall out of balance. So to help with that, here are my best tips to bring you back into balance and help avoid burnout and feelings of overwhelm.

-It’s important to remember that we can really only do one thing effectively at a time. Multitasking leads to burnout so much faster than focusing on one task at a time and giving your full energy and attention to the moment that you’re in. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time and focus on the moment that you’re in!

-The importance of creating a schedule that works for you cannot be overstated. Time blocking is such a valuable tool to make sure that you are using time wisely and achieving balance in your day to day routine. Specific hours of the day should be blocked off for your business responsibilities, but you also need to block out time to work on non-business related pursuits. Take some time to think about what your priorities in life are, and make sure each area has some scheduled time allocated to work on it. It will make your life so much easier!

-Pick five things to do for your business per day. Five isn’t a lot, but it’s enough to ensure significant and consistent progress is being made every day, and as long as you commit to that you will always know you are making progress without getting overwhelmed. Out of your five things, make sure to pick one big thing that is prioritized over the rest, and if nothing else gets done that day, your one big thing will. Prioritizing your to-do list helps so much with combating burnout because you always know you are working on what’s most important, and getting that done if nothing else!

-Last but not least, work on finding happiness with where you are while staying grounded in hope for the future. Think of your journey as a marathon, not a race. Each step you take is bringing you closer to your dreams and the reality you want, and each step is teaching you something important. As cliche as it may sound, learn to enjoy the journey! Your success won’t come overnight, but it will come as you stay consistent and focused on the goal.
